Andre Onana's turbulent journey and exclusion from the Africa Cup of Nations opener left him frustrated and angry

Andre Onana's turbulent journey and exclusion from the Africa Cup of Nations opener left him frustrated and angry. Despite enduring a grueling 16-hour trip to the Ivory Coast, Onana was not selected to play for Cameroon. The Cameroonian FA had reached an agreement with Manchester United, allowing Onana to stay in England until January 14. This enabled him to participate in recent matches for his club. However, after the game against Tottenham, Onana boarded a private jet to join the AFCON tournament. Unfortunately, due to adverse weather conditions, the plane had to divert to Abidjan instead of landing in Yamoussoukro. Onana then had to complete a three-hour car journey to reach his destination just hours before kick-off. Despite his efforts, manager Rigobert Song decided not to include him in the squad. Onana's frustration was evident, as he questioned the purpose of his trip if he wasn't going to play. During this time, he was seen conversing with former Liverpool player El Hadji Diouf, who appeared to be providing him with some much-needed reassurance. Ultimately, Cameroon managed a 1-1 draw in the match, with Onana's cousin Fabrice Ondoa starting in goal.
